The 2017 Mahone Bay Father Christmas is a community-wide celebration of the Yuletide Season.Enjoy the warmth and hospitality of Mahone Bay’s 13th Annual Father Christmas Festival.  The streets will again be filled with the sounds and lights of the season and more than 90 larger than life Father Christmas characters. 

Highlights include:
Over 90 larger than life Father Christmas Figures created by the town’s artists that line the streets.
Tree Lighting Ceremony opens the festival on Friday 24 November at 7pm at the Bandstand, Music by Mahone Bay Carolers’, the St John’s Lutheran Church Bell Ringers, watch Three Ships Go Sailing By!
Join the Lantern Parade from the Bandstand at 7.30pm, bring a lantern and follow Father Christmas to the Mahone Bay Centre for Coca, Cookies and Carols with the Mahone Bay Legion Swing Band and Festival Carolers - a great family event
Visit the Starry Night Fantasy and be enchanted in an interactive wonderland spectacle at the Mahone Bay Centre
Yuletide Gourmet Market is the place to sample and buy sweets, puddings, pastries, condiments, party packs, wines and much more.
Decorate a Gingerbread House and make a Charlie Brown Tree
Christmas Cookie Walk
Music fills the streets with choirs and ensembles during the festival

Bay to Bay Trail

This 10 km trail along the “Lunenburg Spur” connects the Towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay and links with both the Adventure Trail and the Dynamite Trail.  Access includes hikers, bicycles, ATV’s, snowmobiles, skies, and horses.  Parking is available at access points along the trail.

Miller Point Peace Park

Located just off Hwy 3 in Dayspring, this is a 5km. looping trail system with interpretive stations, picnic tables, benches and outdoor washroom facilities. Trails are level, smooth and wide with plenty of parking available at the park entrance. Beautiful views of the LaHave River are an attractive feature of this trail system. Use of these trails is limited to hikers, bicycles and skiers.
You can see hundreds of lady slippers and other wild flowers along the 5 km of walking trails. The trails are all level, smooth, and accessible to walkers, strollers, and wheelchairs. The inner parking area is open from early spring to late fall, but visitors are welcome all year long.
In the spring you will be able to see hundreds of lady slippers and other wild flowers. In the fall, the changing of the colors are absolutely beautiful. This park has a long history of being an old local settlement, which is indicated by the remains of stone foundations throughout the site.
The park is open daily from 8:00 a.m to dusk.
Special events are held in the park throughout the year and are open to the public. Watch our Recreation Guides for information or call 902-541-1343.
Dogs are welcomed, as long as they are on a leash to be respectful of other park users, and don’t forget to pick up after your furry friend!
Please note: All sites are unsupervised and there is no winter maintenance.

We offer you fun camping at our secluded riverside campground. Located in Newburne on the north branch of the LaHave River, we lie at the foot of a hill 250m (700 ft.) away from the highway. No road noise!
There are lots of outdoor games and two great spots in the river for swimming. Campers gather at the Shelter for picking and singing, games, parties and, on occasion, suppers.
This is our service building that houses the office and camp store, washrooms, and laundry.
We invite you to come camp with us in Newburne this summer anytime from May 15th to October 15th

Dear Campers!
We would love to see you and the family come to Little Lake Campground for one of your summer camping trips!

Our Weekends are always full of fun with many activites. We have dances with Local talent, bands and a DJ every second weekend. We dance and sing from 8:30 pm until 12:00 am. We also have magic shows, fireworks and many special theme weekends like Christmas in July, Halloween, Pot luck meals, yummy Breakfast meals etc. A men’s Talent show (now thats a must to see) Don’t miss out on the good times, for young and old.

Little Lake has an outdoor swimming pool with a shallow end and a deep end. We have a canteen where bundles of wood for your own campfire   can also be purchased; lots of candy and kool aid slushies. and also other small grocery items.We have a Landry room as well   as toilets & showers. We have a playground for kids, where Basketball and Badminton can also be played. We have a games room with a pool table and a Jubebox.

Little Lake is a Tenting,and RV park we will take any shape and size of a tralier!  Hope to see you at our campground.
