Chester

Chester

Chester is a beautiful coastal 250 year old Nova Scotia village just a short drive off Route 103 and only 45 minutes from Halifax. It is situated on a tree-clustered peninsula overlooking beautiful Mahone Bay and its many islands. The area was first settled in the middle of the eighteenth century, although there is some evidence that the French used this part of the Atlantic Coast as a fishing outpost well before 1750. Come shop, play, and dine in Chester! You will be pleased to find that the atmosphere here is uncrowded (with the exception of the very popular, Chester Race Week), lazy, and slow—the way life used to be in summer resorts throughout the world.
