Municipal Activity and Recreation Complex

This multipurpose Municipal facility is a community resource providing outdoor and indoor spaces for recreation purposes.
The MARC is composed of the following:
Program Building, Residence Building, a pond for skating, fishing and canoeing, two toboggan runs, three softball fields, cross-country course, playground, ten kilometres of hiking/skiing trails for all skill levels, Mountain bike skills park and disc golf.
The MARC is perfect for flying a kite, having a picnic, watching wildlife near the ponds or exploring the trails. You can also book a softball field for a friendly game or a room for a birthday party. In the winter, the MARC is also used for cross country skiing, skating, and tobogganing. With so many offerings, the MARC is ideal to meet all of your recreation needs.
Many fun family events are held here throughout the year - Pumpkin Party, Christmas Wreath Making, Winter Bonfires, Easter Egg Hunt to name a few. Check out the District of Lunenburg’s Facebook page for details of the next events.
*Note: There is no winter maintenance on the trails. Please respect trail tracking for skiing and snowshoeing.

Bay to Bay Trail
Location: Lunenburg Region
A 10 km trail along the “Lunenburg Spur” that connects the Towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. Also a short 1 km section from the end of the Back Harbour Trail in Lunenburg to Garden Lots.
Access includes hikers, bicycles, ATV’s, snowmobiles, skies, and horses. Parking is available at access points along the trail.
Bull Run Trail
Location: Lunenburg Region
A 27km trail connecting the Centennial Trail in the Town of Bridgewater and to the Region of Queens. This trail features a covered bridge in the community of Hebbville along with various restaurants and services along the route.
Parking is available at access points along the trail. Access includes hikers, bicycles, ATV’s, snowmobiles, skies, and horses.

Sawpit Wharf

Located in Garden Lots, Sawpit Park is a waterfront area that allows water access to Lunenburg’s Back Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean.
The park has a boat launch, picnic and parking areas, benches, a privy and a wharf that you can walk out on.
The wharf at Sawpit is for “day-use” and short term berthing. For any overnight use, the owner(s) of a vessel must apply to the Municipality for a permit allowing the vessel to be left at Sawpit Wharf for up to 48 hours.
