Tancook Island

Tancook Island

Big Tancook and Little Tancook are 2 islands located 6 miles off the southern coast of Nova Scotia in Mahone Bay.  These two islands are accessible by passenger ferry - the William G. Ernst is stationed at Big Tancook and makes daily runs to and from the historic yachting community of Chester. Ferry tickets can be purchased on the ferry which docks on Water St in Chester. Take your bicycles and a packed lunch to explore the island for the day.  A ferry schedule can be found on the Tancook Island Tourism site.
