The vendors come from all over and produce a wide range of fabulous products – fresh seasonal produce, grass-fed meats, free-range eggs, fresh and smoked fish, plants, fresh flowers, cheese, French breads, wine, preserves, honey, maple syrup, beautiful artisan items and more. Its Lunenburg's 266th birthday on 7 June and we're going to celebrate all weekend (7, 8 and 9 June). There are lots of events on this weekend and lots of offerings, too.

Once again this year, various groups, businesses and organizations are hosting events and offering specials and discounts to help mark the Town's 266th birthday. Local residents and visitors alike are encouraged to take some time to enjoy all that our beautiful town has to offer. The actual birthday is June 7 but most activities will take place the following weekend.

Restaurants and retail shops will have specials on over the weekend – look for 'Be a Tourist' posters.

... the South Shore Exhibition is the largest agricultural exhibition in Nova Scotia. They have been around since 1891 and are located on 42 acres.

They are here to bring the fun back to the summer by offering good, old-fashioned horse & oxen pulls daily, light horse competitions, show horse events, arts & crafts, 4-H, beef & dairy displays, poultry displays, petting barn, music and performances from local groups in our Main Building, vendors selling their wares, big name country music Saturday and rock on Friday on our Main Stage, and the parade always kicks off the week on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival is held on the first Sunday of August every year (except when August 1st is Monday, then it is held July 31st) at the Lunenburg War Memorial Arena. Produced and run by volunteers, the event benefits Nova Scotia Folk Artists and the Lunenburg Heritage Society

The Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival is a fund raising initiative of the Lunenburg Heritage Society. This juried event showcases the art of 50+ Nova Scotian folk artists working in wood, metal, fibre, paint, pencil and found items. A volunteer committee oversees the festival on behalf of the Heritage Society and the artists.

The festival has grown from 20 artists in a field in Blockhouse in 1989 to 50-60 participants in recent years. Collectors from all provinces, the USA and Europe mark their calendars for the first Sunday in August.
